People Data Labs SOC 2 information

Last Updated July 5th, 2022

People Data Labs has reinforced its commitment to data security by successfully achieving SOC 2 Type 2 compliance. Along with existing security protocols, this new certification is representative of ongoing commitment to risk mitigation and data security.

The SOC 2 Reports

SOC 2, or Service Organization Controls 2, is a voluntary accreditation developed by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). To qualify for SOC 2, an organization must demonstrate that it has controls in place to ensure the security, availability, and processing integrity of data. SOC 2 reports are performed by independent auditors using AICPA-developed standards.

THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF SOC 2 REPORTS:

Type 1: The report focuses on the system design of the organization's controls

Type 2: The report focuses on the operating effectiveness of an organization’s controls and includes all of Type I (the auditor verifies that the reported controls work as stated).

Successfully completing the SOC 2 Type 2 examination indicates that People Data Labs has a system of controls and operational processes to meet a renowned security standard of excellence. This dedication to security is critical to fulfilling our mission and empowering developers with data and insights.

The SOC 3 Report

SOC 3 is a streamlined report that summarizes the results of SOC 2 testing. The main distinction between the SOC 2 and SOC 3 reports is the audience. The SOC 2 report is shared under NDA while the SOC 3 report contains similar information for a public audience.
