Today, we’re announcing a major expansion and quality upgrade to our
Job Posting Dataset, significantly increasing the number of company career pages we track while improving posting quality, freshness, completeness, and usability across the dataset.
Whether you’re building a product, identifying sales opportunities, monitoring competitors, or analyzing labor-market activity, these improvements give you a broader and more reliable view of how companies are hiring.
Let’s dive in!
What’s Improved in the PDL Job Posting Dataset?
This release includes improvements across five major areas:
- Expanded company coverage
- Fewer duplicate and low-quality postings
- More accurate job deactivation dates
- Job descriptions on more than 99% of active postings
- New company industry fields
Together, these updates make it easier to find the companies, roles, and hiring signals that matter – so you can spend less time cleaning, deduplicating, or validating the underlying data.
Expanded Coverage Across More Than 400,000 Company Career Pages
Coverage has been one of the most requested improvements since we launched the Job Posting Dataset.
With this release, we’ve expanded from approximately 86,000 tracked company career pages to more than 400,000.
That expanded footprint now includes more than 100,000 unique companies with active job postings, up from approximately 60,000.
Just as importantly, we continue tracking companies even when they do not currently have an open role.
A company with zero active job postings is still a useful signal. It can indicate a hiring slowdown, a pause in expansion, a change in strategy, or simply a quieter point in the company’s hiring cycle.
By continually monitoring company-hosted career pages, PDL provides visibility into both active hiring and the absence of hiring activity.
Fewer Duplicate and Low-Quality Job Postings
More job postings do not automatically mean better job-posting data.
Duplicate listings can inflate hiring counts, distort trends, and create extra cleanup work for teams using job data in products, models, and business workflows.
We made significant upgrades to our sourcing process to reduce duplicate and lower-quality records. These changes have produced a meaningful reduction in duplicate postings and provide a more accurate view of hiring activity across the companies we track.
The result is cleaner job counts, less manual maintenance, and greater confidence in the signals you build from the data.
More Accurate Job Deactivation Dates
Knowing that a job was posted is useful. Knowing whether it is still open is even more important.
Stale job listings can make a company appear more active than it really is, interfere with trend analysis, and trigger outreach or workflows based on opportunities that are no longer current.
We improved the accuracy of the deactivated_date field to better identify when postings are removed from company career pages.
This means fewer outdated jobs, clearer active-job counts, and a more current view of company hiring activity.
More Than 99% Description Coverage for Active Jobs
Job descriptions contain some of the richest information available in a posting.
They can reveal the technologies a company uses, the skills it needs, the teams it is building, the markets it is entering, and the initiatives receiving investment.
With this release, more than 99% of active job postings include a description.
That gives product, data, and go-to-market teams more complete inputs for:
- Skill and technology extraction
- Role and function classification
- Company segmentation
- Search and discovery
- Market and workforce analysis
- AI and machine-learning workflows
Instead of working around missing descriptions, teams can use more of the dataset immediately.
New Company Industry Fields
We also added two company industry fields directly to Job Posting records:
- company_industry
- company_industry_v2
These fields use PDL’s canonical industry classifications and make it easier to search, filter, segment, and analyze job postings based on the industry of the hiring company.
For example, you can use the fields to:
- Find active software companies hiring security engineers
- Compare hiring activity across healthcare and financial services
- Build industry-specific prospecting or market-monitoring workflows
- Analyze which roles are growing within a particular sector
The new fields are available across PDL Job Posting Data products and can also be used as filters through the
Job Posting Search API.
How Can You Access the Improved Dataset?

FAQs
Where Does PDL Source Its Job Posting Data?
PDL compliantly sources job postings directly from company-hosted career pages.
This approach is designed to provide an accurate and current view of the roles companies are actively advertising, rather than relying primarily on listings copied across traditional job boards.
Job-board data can contain reposted, duplicated, expired, or syndicated listings. By focusing on company career pages, we can more closely reflect what a company is publishing at the source.
This helps reduce inflated job counts and gives customers a clearer view of actual company hiring activity.
Why Job Posting Data Matters
Job postings are more than open roles. They are signals of company strategy, investment, growth, and intent.
A company hiring its first enterprise sales leader may be preparing to move upmarket. A sudden increase in AI engineering roles may signal a new product investment. A decline in open positions may indicate a hiring slowdown or shift in priorities.
With clean and current job-posting data, you can:
- Identify companies that are actively growing
- Prioritize sales outreach using hiring signals
- Track competitors and emerging initiatives
- Monitor workforce and labor-market trends
- Power recruiting, analytics, and intelligence products
- Detect changes in company strategy before they appear in traditional reporting
PDL Job Posting Data helps turn those individual listings into structured signals that can be searched, analyzed, and used in downstream workflows.
Who Is PDL Job Posting Data For?
PDL Job Posting Data is built for teams that need scalable access to current hiring activity.
Sales and RevOps teams can identify companies hiring for relevant departments, technologies, or initiatives and use those signals to prioritize outreach.
Marketing teams can build audiences and trigger campaigns based on hiring activity, company industry, role, location, and other attributes.
Product and data teams can add job intelligence to their products without building and maintaining their own large-scale career-page scraping infrastructure.
Recruiting and HR technology companies can power job discovery, labor-market analysis, matching, enrichment, and competitive intelligence workflows.
Investors and analysts can monitor company growth, strategy, workforce demand, and broader market trends.
